Abstraksi Narasi : The first part of the article give some information about Denmark and its people, their life style and educational system before considering youth itself. What strikes the observer is how well young people are taken care of, given much in terms of encouragement and opportunities... with unavoidable conflicts. Denmark is a land of associations (and for youth, mainly sports clubs). At the age of 17-18, many boys and girls take their life in their own hands, live on their own, sometimes even interrupt their course of studies. They are very much interested in ecological problems, energy saving, world peace and are deeply concerned with their future job. Compromised, world peace and are deeply concerned with their future job. Compromised and disappointments in the face of the harshness of life are frequent, especially with regard to the stability of couples. Catholics in this predominatly Lutheran country form a tiny minority, a bare 0,5 % which amounts to about 4000 young catholics aged between 15 and 18. For them, the diocese has created a youth organization where they can, among other things, discuss and deepen their faith. But often parish life is lacking in openness and tolerance. For some young people, the Church is conservative in ethical and sexual matters, not open to democratic principles. Others have taken a personal stand and do not brother about official positions. Openness, tolerance, freedom of thought, democratic spirit, sense of justice are not just ideals. Danish society is caracterized by Christian values. The authors hope that in time to come it will remain so.

Abstraksi Narasi : Until recently, the task of education was traditionally entrusted to the family, the school taking over intellectual training. Values recognized by both entities were identical, even complemetary. But today, the task of education is getting much more complex and chages in society have contributed to a redistribution of roles, if not necessarily of competencies. The school today has to educate for life in society. For the author, a few objectives along these lines are language proficiency, volaarization of group results, participatory spirit. The article describes how they try to implement these orientations in two primary schools with a high percentage (94%) of Muslim immigrant chidren in northern Brussels.

Abstraksi Narasi : Opinion poll results are convegent: one young person in three claim that they have no religion and more than half affirm that the question is without interest. At the same time, quite a few admit praying, sometimes even daily. On the basis of extensive surveys, the author underlines a few major attitudes of the young generation (aged 15 to 19) in France. Many young people are happy to live and enjoy life. But many also are anxious in the face of unemployment, nuclear threat, physical disability. They also feel helpless in the face of the complexity of the modern world and often speak of waiting. While they often lack key ideas or , thay are easily cought by slogans. We note an undue importance given to tolerance and relativism, so that beliefs and convictions become a matter of personal choice or taste, without objective reference. For them, feeling is all important (everyone is led back to his own subjectiivity) and adults do not help adolescents by looking down on or rejecting sensitivity. A proper understanding of the role and place of feeling is important. After all, God touches the human person through his feelings also. After all, God touches the human person through his feelings also. Those who work with young pwople are aware of this dimension. One last conviction: parents, priests, educators are not the only ones to be responsible for the place taken by youth in society. Young people themselves have their share resonsibility. Let us not take their place but, with them, face life.

Abstraksi Narasi : For many adults, it seems that great ideals of justice, peace, working for a better world no longer atract young people. It is difficult to speak about youth in general but drawing on wide experience, mainly with the YSC at European level, the author offers a few reflections. Many young people today look for real happiness, friendly and loving relationships, self-fulfilment in all spheres of life. The new generation tries to blend in a pragmatic way generosity with realism. They are committed, but not unconditionally and rarely on a long term basis, a committment a la Carte as ait were. Let us not forget that today`s world generates insecurity, relativism, a crisis mentality. In such a world, youth hesitate, feels vulnerable, relies on the provisory and thinks often about work, family relationships, the meaning of life. Faced with the crisis of development models, three types of reaction are presented: the pragmatic ones believe that the actual model of society should be adjusted and corrected from inside; the winners, often , feel at ease in that kind of model; others on the contrary are insecure: they look for security, warmth, recognition and are easily attracted by sectarian groups. A majority, but a silent majority, is ready to practise solidarity and sharing, feels strongly about racism, famine, arm race, money power... feelings expressed on the occasion of short-lived manifestations (cf Life Aid, Student Aid). This sensitivity, very much of our time, manisfests itself particularly in three areas: a new look at nature and the natural world; society seen as a vulnerable system which has to be protected, and finally a new attitude to time which gives pride of place to the present moment.

Abstraksi Narasi : The article first traces the origins of what is known in many Latin countries as the . A special ceremony of > is mentioned for the first time at the end of the XVIIth century. This ceremony became progressively adopted during the XVIIth century. In the next century, a profession of faith was added and, in the XIXth century, it became more and more a family feast. Since 1950, many questions are being raised but the Solemn Communication remains nevertheless very much a fact of society as well as a religious event. In the pastoral approach, we should not overlook the fact that the feast is akin to the rites of passage (from childhood to adolescence). Such a celebrattion is legitimate and perhaps necessary, but there remains a gap between the will of the pastors and the desire of the family. Offer and demand are not on the same level. As guidelines for the future, the author proposes six points to be attentive to : a pragmatic approach which tries to give full value to the feast, without illusion but without contempt, without defeatism but with creativity; a parish catechesis which takes into account the specific conditions of the ecclesial context; personal contact with the parents; institance on a solems profession of faith or on a profession renewed every Sunday; the place of the children in our sunday Eucharist and the follow-up in between or father the celebrations.

Abstraksi Narasi : The author-a layman, director of a Jesuit school-tries to define the main features of the pedagogical activity of the Jesuit Schools in French-speaking? Belgium. First of all, he notes some sommon traits in the educational policies of these institutions: a Jesuit school wants to be a teaching community, an educational community, a Christian community. In a second step, the author compares those characteristics with the results of modern psycho-pedagogical research and discovers a basis smilarity on amny issues. A third question is raised: how are these ideals put into practice? A few experiences and activities are given as examples: tutorship, held for weakers pupils, social responsibility, differentiated education. In conclusion, the author can say that pedagogy in Jesuit schools, because of its Ignatian inspiration, always seeks to progress, always seeks better paths to give the youth of today an education which takes into account the whole person.

Abstraksi Narasi : The author unpretentiously answers three questions which people often ask about the Jesuits: 1. Suspected of interpreting the law in order to find a solution for any possible situation, the Jesuits are often accused of casuistry. Actually, says the author, it is a question of respect and of taking seriously the role of the individual conscience as mediating between law and life: 2. Suspected of being ugly individualists and of going their own way, how do Jesuits deal with belonging to a community? In the Society, companionship has always been for a better apostlic service but reamains nevertheless an important element and a source of great strength for the Jesuits, who consider themselves as ``frends in the Lord". 3. The term ``Jesuit`` denotes sometimes ``one given to intrigue or deception`` and implies for many the art of reconciling the irreconcilable: freedom and obedience. What about freedom in the framework of Jesuit obedience? People often forget that the hierarchical structure of the Society is based on a common desire to listen to God, to be constanly attentive to his voice. Yes, the famous perinde ac cadaver has often been misinterpreted.

Le Pedagogie Ignatienne Pour les Laics Experiences en Espagne

Abstraksi Narasi : Lay people of the Ignatian family can rightly celebrate the Ignatian anniversaries. This article first recalls a few stages of a long history, from the foundation of the first Solidalities of Our Lady, the suppression of the Society but not of the Sodalities, and the promulgation of Bis Saeculari by Pope Pius XII in 1948 till the approval of the General Principles by Pope Paul VI in1971. The CLC (Christian Life Communities) gather men and women, adults and youth, celibates and married people, from different backgrounds and cultures, in small groups of 8 to 12. They join with other people involved in living their full Christian vocation and commitment in the world. They are today present in 54 countries and number about 100.000 members. More important than membership or organisation is their spirit: the Ignatian charism remains a characteristic of the movement. Friends in the Lord, the CLC members help one another by sharing questions, experiences, discoveries of this charism assimilated through the practice and study of the Spiritual Exercises. Today in Spain, many CLC`s follow a specific training programme inspired by the Spiritual Exercises and their pedagogy. This programme in four steps constitutes a process of personal and group growth. The following elements in this process are considered as specially significant: a positive look at the created world, the integration of faith and life, a mission beyond frontiers but with an option for the poor.
