| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Jesus is the Prophet par excellence. He appears as the one who is to come, but not in the way people expected him to be. He heals the sick, fress the oppressed, gathers a new community open to all, especially the outcast, a community of free and responsible men and women who listen to the Word and put it in practice. Through his death and resourrection, Jesus gives his Spirit to the world. The Spirit is at the source of our desire for communion, peace justice, wherever work is done to free people from all sorts of injustice and oppession which prevent the Promise of the Covenant and integral liberation too blossom. The Church is the sacrament of the growth of the Kingdom. In every Eucharist is expressed and signified a sharing community, realisation of the Kingdom, source of hoope for the poor and the excluded. Injustice and exclusion are still at work in the Church ans in the world. Christians still have to become one in Christ, members of his body, but in the eyes of faith the tares cannot prevent the wheat to ripen and give fruit. Even if what is given in germ still awaits its final fulfilment, the community founded by Jesus pulls together the three Old TEstament threads of promise, liberation and covenant. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | For the last few years, the phrase (Gemeindekathechese) has been very much widespread in West Germany. One expects from the linnk between the two themes a renewal of both, community and catechesis. The impulse came from a document of the German Synod, and develioped in three stages: * 1. Catechesis in the community: catechesis is broader than religion teaching in school even if this aspect remained prevalent. * 2. Catechesis for the community: learning is a life long process and the principle holds true for faith, catechesis if for everyone at every age. * 3. Catechesis of the community: the responsibility for catechesis belongs to the people of God as a whole, not only to those who are specially commissionned. The community members are actors as well as receivers and catechesis has a inspiring function as well as a transmission function. The article describes a few steps towards a true community catechesis. It should not be reduced to sacramental catechesis but show the link between what is celebrated and the world around, between Christian faith and daily life. When faith becomes a power a power of liberation, it cannot remain conceptual: a Christian community is a place where the Reign of God becomes visible, incarnated. Faith cannot be satisfied with ready-made formulas: community catechesis implies an invitation to reexpress one`s faith and share with others the new of God`s Reign. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | In France, the phrase lieu catechetique has been widely used since the implementation of new catechetical projects. When we speak of , we do not mean a location but an identifiable place where people meet et regular intervals taking into account common rythms, where there is interaction and relaionship, where not everything is brought by the organizers, and things are not ready-made but aon the contrary always startig. The catechetical context is not just one element among others. It is specific and refers and refers to all the other places: schools, recreational centres, play ground, family, town, etc. The change in catechetical context is a manifestation of the vitality of the Word, an expression of the link between faith and social environment. Today in France catechesis works well in small, unobtrusive groups based on warm relationships between catechists and children, where people listen to one another, with an air of confidence. Something also takes place during great happenings, religio-cultural pageants where catechesis rediscovers it for long but we always need to adjust to changing life conditions. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | To improve catechesis in his parish, the author has started to adapt teaching methods and to train catechist but he has also been attentive to the milieu in which catechesis was being done: catechesis is not done only in schools and a new emphasis was placed on home and neighbourhood, as well as on separating the adults from the children. The aim was to place the Word of God, back in the homes, in the shadow of the trees, where people live and to use active methods (dance, drawing, play, music,...) and not rely exclusively on memory. Very much linked to the basic Christian communities, this type of catechesis has convinced the people that the Good News has reached them at home. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Quite a few recent films touch religion directly indirectly. Therese follows the spiritual itinerary of Therese de Lisieux and reveals, in words and images, that God`s love is not abstract. Babette`s feast could well illustrate a talk on Christian sacraments. Other films deal with our religious past: The Name of the Rose is not merely a good detective story and goes beyond medieval anecdotes; similarly, L`oeuvre au noir treats religious freedom, the quest for truth, the desire to live one`s faith. Mission, set at the time of the colonial era, concerns the attempts to build a new society, true to the gospel ideals. The Mass is ended looks at the dissolution of a traditional society through the eyes of its young pastor. Finally, it is difficult not to be touched by the confrontation between God`s grace and the power of evil in Under Satan`s Sun . These films are part of our cultural universe. People in charge of pastoral work cannot neglect them. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The generation gap has always existed but today it requires a new attitude if we want to dialogue with adolescents. Real pastoral counselling can change the heart of the young, touching the inner core of his being. The most important is not the advice given, nor even the words exchanged but the fact that a true dialogue has taken place and a deep human relationship experiences. This will be possible if the ``adult" counsellor is ready to have a congrent attitude, to show an unconditional interest, to display empathic concern. Taking into account the psychology of the teenager, the pastoral counsellor will today be attentive to three points: * his role as a confident: the adolescent needs a friend who listens to him; * his role as an educator: the educator points to the richness of human experience, he is reference in the socialization process and a guide in the growth process; he is an who initiates into the adventure of life; * his role as spiritual director: not necessarily a priest but a person with theological formation, he/she must be a person who can open to God`s mystery and be a companion in a discernment process. |

Volunteers, aged 17 to 70, coming from different background and with diverse motives, help sick people in hospitals and homes by their attention to the human and relational needs of the sick person. Volunteers work in close collaboration with the medical personnel and help patients to eat, wash, walk,... but they are also there to discuss, share, laugh, etc. One interesting feature of the association is the link with medical services in the Third World. In this article, three volunteers share their experience, questions, discoveries. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | In a post-Christian world, teaching and preaching often seem inadequate for communicating Christian faith. A new way to share faith must be sought. Witnessing implies life-sharing, a certain way to live and deal with basic human problems. Yet it is more than simply . It presupposes a confession of faith expressed in the life context and culture of both parties. In our catechesis we cannot remain at an intellectual level. Profession of faith as well as experience should be included. Catechists, religion teachers, parents must share their experience, including its intellectual and reflective dimension, but must go farther. A person endowed with rich faith experience and deep personal conviction is worth more than dozens of uninspiring propagandists or religious bureaucrats. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Often in religious education, we use faith witnesses but rarely ask why and much less how. Is it justified, useful, necessary to present the figure of some great faith witness and, if so, for what reasons, theological or methodological? Secondly, when, with what results, through what means should it be done? What is the teacher searching? The first question to ask concerns the Christian identity of the persons taken as examples: to what do they witness? Secondly, is the use of witnesses necessary or simply optinal? Thirdly the article describes the difficulties and pitfalls due to the communication situation and its new context; due to the risk of confusion between a witness and a hero and due to themedium used (slides, comic strips, songs, ...). The article ends with a methodological question: what are the criteria which determine the time a witness should be introduced in the programme? There is no ready made answer because the task of religious education is to move between the risks and necessity of the witnessing function. |
