Abstraksi Narasi : ``September 11`` has made an impact on the totality of peoples` lives in the United States, and so affects their spiritual lives. The concept of a `dark night of the soul` offers a possible interpretation of this impact. But the `Soul` in question has been influenced by what can be called a `civil spirituality` common to all Americans as citizens. One outcome for Catholics, it is suggested, is an interior summons to foster international links in the Church.

Abstraksi Narasi : At times, the great variety of motives that lead people to receive the sacraments gives the impression that the pastoral field has become a real super-market. One comes to find what one wants, while Church leaders restrict their task to answer requests and to adjust to circumstances. Such a situation generates uneasiness. Many proposals have been made in order to get out of this difficulty, yet so far no global solution seems to emerge. The article poposes to takle the issue on a new basis. We should consider such a diversity as an opportunity and a challenge, and be ready to be questioned by different patterns of belief and by different ways to live one`s relationship with God, even if it does not coincide with our pastoral frameworks.

Abstraksi Narasi : The Gospel speaks of the Church as light, salt and leaven. It talks about worshipping God in spirit and in truth. It suggests that the apostles were to be poor and mobile. The Church, however, has become an institution procuring salvation through the sacraments. It is this image that guides all our reflection concerning the Church. The idea of the Church as sacrament proposed by the Second Vatican Council can help us to rediscover the original reality of the Curch. Looking at the Eucharist and reconciliation, we see how they are dialectically related to life. Similarly, the Church, too, is related to the world. It is seen more as a secular movement involved in the world than as a sacred institution. The Church is an open, kenotic, missionary, missionary and secular community.

Abstraksi Narasi : The new Testament has been shaped by faith in the risen Christ, and also by the traditions of Israel. Many texts from the Gospels can only be understood in the light of these traditions. from the beginning, the first Christians had to have recourse to the Jewish traditions in order to express their faith. knowledge of Jewish history offers a renewed understanding of the various facets of Judaism in the first century A.D. It shows that the opposition between Jesus` dsciples and the Parisees was a family affair. Familiarity with the Sages of Israel gives a better understanding of Pharisaism, allowing at the same time, a measured appreciation of the responsibility of the chief priests for the death of Jesus.

Abstraksi Narasi : For quite a few years, psychoanalyst Marie Balmary has been reading the Bible with groups, more specifically during workshops of the "Bible and Psychoanalysis" Association. Eveyone comes with his/her own understanding, his/her image of the Biblical text. This personal symbolic world is confronted by the Hebrew or Greek texts and the interpretation of others, compelling one to reinterpret the text. Therefore, it is not a qustion of mastering the meaning of the text, but rather of the individual coming to birth and growing up with the text.
