| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Blessings have an important place in the life of Mauritians. The article shows that Mauritians see bleesings, which in the Bible express praise, as a rite of protection against evil forces. By the way in which he prays, the Mauritian Creole reveals his conception of God and also of humankind. Once purified in the spirit of the Gospel, popular rites can become a tool for evangelisition. Three approaches are being proposed: change of heart, use of the Creole language, training-better adapted to the popular world. |

The celebration is divided into four moments: opening liturgy; liturgy of the Word; personal prayer; sharing and concluding rite. Among the themes proposed during last Lent were Jesus in the desert, the Tranfiguration, the Burning Bush, the Prodigal Son, the Adulterous Woman, the Washing of the feet. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The 1978 Spanish Constitution recognizes Religious Education in the article dealing with the right to education. According to the 1979 Agreement, signed between Spain and the Holy See, the State guarantees the right to follow Catholic RE and bears the costs thereof. Other agreements were signed in 1992 with the Federation of Evangelical Churches, the Federation of Israelite Communities and the Spanish Islamic Committee. According to the 1994 Royal Decree, Catholic RE is comparable to the basis subject matters of each education level. Guarantees are also provided for Evangelical and Muslim RE. For the author however, the main problem is that only denominations which have signed an agreement with the State can Officially give RE in state schools. |

One can note some progress: an increasing number of pupils, a good level of faith knowledge and a number of lay teachers involved. On the other hand, one can note a few drawbacks, especially concerning the formation of teachers who have to face a new situation. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Rightly or wrongly, the Catholic world has been perceived as a film and stable body in the political field, basically aligned on the conservative side Voting analysis and political studies confirm the link between religious orientations and political behaviour. The article`s aim is to contribute to the discussion on the subject. It questions the idea that Catholicism is to be seen as a specific culture, as a determined and stable system with ensuing politicl choises. The author bases his reflection on a survey made in the Grenoble area in 1992, among 1400 students (and their parents) coming from ten different schools. Four points are discussed: - The religious identity : a question of inheritance ? - Religious belonging and ideological choices -The relationship between religious preferences and ideological choices (left/right) - How to explain the changes? If there is indeed a relationship between religious preferences and political choices, such a relationship is surely not unique, nor determined once and for all. |

The article presents briefly the Law 118 in the Quebec context and the discussion concerning the place of religion at school. The Law 118 contains a number of a-priori which have not been discussed but which are nevertheless basic (need of a cultural approach of religion, the utility of social integration, the weight of the French laicism, the belief of the gradual decline of religion). The article ends with the effects and results, actual and foreseen, of the law and the ecclesial repercussions of faith formation. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The article offers a few elements to help define Religious Education as any other teaching subject. A difficult task indeed because the subject matter of RE in state schools is different from country to country. RE should respect the eductive mission of state schools and at the same time value the catechetical orientations of faith communities. The same criteria should be used for all forms of religious teaching. Studies in education on the definition of subject matter would be greatly helpful. The authors suggests using research which defines the content according to the four following criteria : the knowledge to acquire, the skills to master the task to be done, and the tools used by educationists. |
