| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The Belgium constitution safeguards the freedom of education. Alongside the state school network, you also find in Belgium a strong network of Catholic teaching institutions. In state schools, RE classes and non religious moral classes are being held. The 1997 Decree which gives new orientations to primary and secondary education has introduced a few changes. Rather that start from the principle of freedom of education, the Decree gives general orientations for all teaching establishments, public or private. Some kind of uniformity is henceforth introduced. Along the same line, some political parties suggest to replace relligious education by philosiphy courses and the study of comparative religions. The debate it now open. The article discusses the issues under four headings: - to safeguard the right of the schools to set themselves their educative thrust and options; - to take into account the search of meaning not by uniformity but by interaction; - to clarify the place and the role of RE, in order to help the students to find their way in a pluralist world; - the challenge of training RE teachers for this new situation. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | If we leave out the foreign population in Germany, next to Catholicism and Protestantism, we must today reckon with a third confession or denomination-those without any religious belief. In East Germany, this group is numerically the most significant and in many ways can function as popular religion in Catholic and Protestant areas. The article analyses this "religion" which leaves its mark on East Germany. First the situation is described. The second part outlines some guidelines required in such a situation: - Not to underestimate the gap between the preaching of the Church and the non Christian receivers; - No to be disdainful of the others; - To clarifi one`s objectives East Germany, the author concludes, is truly a mission territory. However, here the proclamation of the Gospel is not done in opposition to other religions but in a deep-seated non-religious ethos. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | In the year 2000, the European Forum for Religious Education and the European Catechetical Team held their Congress close to one another in time and space. The former took place at the end of April in Bratislava, and the latter at the end of May in Schmochtitz, near Dresden, in former East Germany. The article compares the work and themes of both congresses. The forum drew a picture of religious education in the school systems of Eastern Europe, ten years after new relationships between the Churches and the States have been drawn. The European Catechetical Team met around the theme : How does one become a Christian in Europe today. The guiding thread was here the conceptions of initiations and a criticl understanding of some actual practices of Christian Initiation. In today`s world, religious transmission does not disappear but has changed substantially, Christians are invited to be creative in order to be credible |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Taking into account the progress of the modern catechetical move-ment, it becomes clear that the model of a catechesis exclusively based on the transmission of knowledge (doctrine, ethics), is becoming inadequate. It is no longer sufficient to simply hand down the fauth as an inheritance. One has to change the model and favour an approach based on experience, at the personal and comminity level. This new catechetical approach takes its inspiration from the adult catechumenate model, reinstated by the vatican II Council. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Nowadays, the links with an institution, a community, a group are nomore a matter of tradition but of personal choice, a choice that can be questioned at any time. The author proposees in such a context to reflect on self-identify building and the sense of belonging to the Christian community. He developes his reflections along three main steps: - a reflection on three dimensions of identify (subjective, social, institutional) and their necessary interaction; - a look at the development of "self" as a challenge and as a task; - a few orientations of a catechetical nature; which is the type of catechesis to propose to people confronted with the vital question of identity but who are hardly concerned about Christian belonging? |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Films are not religious simply be the fact that they deal with a religious topic like the life of Christ of the Saints. Such films, most often, are only portrayals which can easily hide the sacred dimension of the subjeact. A religious film in the full meaning of the term ``links`` us to others, to the mystery of humankind and, in the best cases, to the Mystery-the mystery of God`s presence among us. Even when starting from a secular topic, a religious film is rooted in an aesthetic approach which-whatever the characters and into human condition and reveals man`s true nature of homo religiosus, a dimension which the believe considers evangelical even if this may escape the explicit awareness of the maker. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Few time are dealing with the figure of Jesus nowadays. However, in many ways, explicitly or implicitly, the person and the message of Jesus are present on the screen. The article deals with Christlike figures in three recent american movies: The Green Line (1999), Matrix (1999), Amistad (19970. Other examples also show that the dialogue between the world of images and the Church can truly be inspiring, mutually enriching and stimulating, and that beyond catechetics and pastoral works. |
