Why do some sacraments make such a strong impression while others have so little impact/ 2. Are there in the modern forms of ``invisible religion`` something which has a function similar to the one of the sacraments in Christianity and in the Church? 3. Where do our contemporaries experience the sacred? 4. In which measure could today`s sacred also find an echo in the sacraments of the Church?

Abstraksi Narasi : Many paths are open to those who want to determine the objectives of religious edcation in schools. The author starts from the basic fact that life has been given us and that the most humanizing activity is to make one`s own our existence. In other words, it is important to discover and to build up one`s own identity and, in this case, one`s christian identity. In this respecct, the school, next to other factors like the family, has a specific role to play, and in the school, religious education has its specific place. In orde to realize this objective, the teacher must help pupils to build up meaning for their life, to make it their own, and make them discover that Christ offers a path of growth and liberation. Linking life and the christian message and tradition necessarily includes some religious content. The basic faith data centre around the Covenant, which is most adapted for he aforesaid objective. Instruments for the analysis of religious of secular texts and documents as musc as life situations should be taken into account; thanks to hese, the maikn existential questions will be raised.

Abstraksi Narasi : Because he fulfilled the aim of traditional sacrifices by establishing a new reationship between God and humankind, Jesus Christ has abolished the sacrifices, a key element of any religion. It is through his life and death, through an ``existential sacrifice``, that Jesus operated this fulfilment. This non cultic understanding of sacrifice by the founder leads to the consequence that Christianity does not have the same understanding of cult as other religions. The sacrifice which is required from the faithful is the sacrifice of a life of faith and charity. However, given our human condition, Christianity could not completely get rid of ritual. In christianity, however needed they are to give faith a strucutre, rituals are subordinated to the sacrifice of a life of fraternal service.

Abstraksi Narasi : What must we think about the return of Satan and the demonic in western culture? The article offers a few pastoral guidelines, grounded in Scripture and in recent theological reflection. The Old Testament gives little importance to demons and to Satan. The latter appears only in three late passages, and in order to counterbalance a positive image of God (1 Chr 21:1; sir 21: 27; Wis 2: 24). Satan however is very much present in the Pseudepigrapha which have influenced the authors of the New Testament, a fact which invites us to the utmost prudence concerning images and concepts about Satan in the Gospels. satan is surely not a person in the usual meaning attached to the term, but could well be the symbolic figure of our multifaceted connivance with evil. Pastorally soeaking, it is impportant to underline the historical action of the Risen Christ present wherever men and women jon together in order to make the Kingdom take place.

La Symbolique Animale Evoque-elle l`Esprit Saint?

Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Lumen: A Journal of Catholic Studies
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 25-267
Abstraksi Narasi : The classical world knew fables in which animals speak and act like human beings, and the animal world is organized on the model of human society. The Bible simiarly likes to have recourse to animal symbolism, suffice it to mention the dove of Noah and the revens of Elijah. When the New Testament takes up the symbolism of the dove to evoke the Holy Spirit, it is in continuity with a long tradition, written as much as oral. The article studies the narrative of the baptism of Jesus in the light of the Jewish tradition, biblical and apocryphal, and briefly mentions the main patristic references to conclude with a theological question discussed by the Judaeo-Christians: the Spirit-dove as Mother. God is beyond any representation and symbol but, in spite of its limitations, the symbol remains a privileged approach of the mystery of God.

Humanite et Animalite: Reflexion a Partir de Traditions Bibliques

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Lumen: A Journal of Catholic Studies
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 245-254
Abstraksi Narasi : A certain contempt for the natural and for the animal world seems to be linked historically to the secularizing outlook of the doctrine of creation found in the first chapters of Genesis. Yet only a biased reading of these texts can induce a conflictive relationship between humankind and nature. A careful reading leads us to discover an invitation adressed to humans to master their own mastery in order to save life from ever threatening violence. Biblical wisdom does not place humankind in the centre of the world but invites them to find their right place by listening to what the animals can tell them. It opens their eyes to their inner animality, giving them as mission to master it by language in order to becme what they are: beings created in the image of God.
