| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This is the reproach that is sometimes made to Catholicism by other christians. They attribute this substitution to a weakness in Catholic pneumatology. We must recognize that there is something to this critique. A Marian sermon of St. Bernardo of Siena (XV th century) cited in an encyclical of Leo XIII (1894)-which was inturn cited in a preparatory outline of vatican II (1962)- is a typical example. A Mariological tradition thus emerges which seeks ever newer dogmatis definitions of Marian titles and privileges (`` Advocate``, ``Coredemptrix``, ``Mediatrix). Fortunately the Second Vatican Council sought to set limits to this exaggerated and theologically poorly balanced Mariology. The latter, however, still survives today. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | A trinitarian Christology can serve as a useful hermeneutical key for a theology of the religious traditions and of interreligious dialogue. Such a Christology will put in full light the interpersonal relationships between Jesus Christ and the God he calls Father, on the one hand, and the Holy Spirit, on the other. It will show that the active presence of the Spirit in the world reaches beyond the historical event of Jesus Christ. The particularity of the event imposes upon it irremediable limitations. The action of the Logos and of the Spirit are not, however, circumscribed by the event. The Word of God and his Spirit have been present and active throughout human history in persons and in the religious traditions themselves. Their universal influence accounts for the fact that God`s self-manifestationn and self-gift to people passed through the channel of the traditions to which they belong. It also shows how in interreligious dialogue the divine Spirit challenges the partners through their mutual interaction. |

Catechesis is not limited to any specific age and is not directed exclusively at sacramental preparation. Moreover, it cannot be organized without taking account of the local context. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The Hebrew of the Old Testament lives in symbiosis with the earth, as an actor tied to the work of natre. At the same time he discovers Yahweh`s presence, working both in the world and within himself. He draws his expressions from his experience of the earth: its breath penetrates him completely and gives him life. Yahweh is the Lord of the wind, which moves all things and all human beings. But even more fundamentally, it is the breath of Yahweh which gives existence and movement to nature and to humanity. In the Old Testament, this breath of God gave existence and power to act, it raised up charismatic leaders, anointed messianic guides, and inspired the prophets. |

As recent syntactic and semantic investigations of Gen 1:1-3 have shown, the biblical account of creation does not develop the motif of the divine spirit. But later biblical and apocryphal texts have introduced this interpretation of Gen 1:1-3, reading it against the background of the wisdom tradition or logos theology. Thus, they have laid the ground for the trinitarian interpretation of that passage as its . The author argues that it is not possible to derive the theological motif of the holy spirit directly from Gen 1. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Two conflicting pneumatologies are struggling for dominance in the field of theological reason. The first identifies the Spirit with a force or a flux that assures the salvation of the believer ad the authority of the hierarch. This view takes the side of continuity, and thus unwittingly exalts the divine, and to the destruction of the notion of the responsibility of the individual subject. The second view considers that the mission of the Spirit is to create a critical distance, a discontinuity. According to this view, the Spirit in fact lays down the conditions that make possible ethics and belief, and premits the renewal of received meanings by challenging the individual or institutional prejjudices which would like to keep these meanings fixed. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The author argues that it is necessary to experience the Holy Spirit. we all need this experience, especially during this time of change and the advent of a new era. However, our mood is one of scepticism: too many deceptive experiences are on offer, and we are aware that we can easily deceive even ourselves. It is, therefore essential that we follow paths that do not lead us astray. Among the different possibilities, the author choosesm those that take the route of action. Mounier had invited us to undertake ``difficult`` acts, following the example of Jesus, who demanded them of those whom he called to be his followers. We can experience the Spirit through these ``difficult`` actions, for alhough they are ``ours``, they also have a dimension that comes from beyond us, which we can attribute to the Holy Spirit. If the Spiri is creativity, solidarity, and depth, then we can experience it in those actions which awaken our creativity, create solidarity and leave a sense of depth and of peace. To initiate someone into the experience of the Spirit means guidance in carrying ot these acts, as well as a pedagogy which helps provide a faith-filled reading of what is happening. | Abstraksi Narasi | : | What are the criteria which allow one to speak of a Christian school? How far can the values of a Catholic school coincide with the values of a pluralist institution? Such are the questions which the article first discusses. It then offers a critical reflection on the Belgian Churrch document, Mission of the Christian School, under three headings: hermenetical principles, new orientations (as compared with the 1975 document), the relationship between education and evangelization. The document does not resolve a tension between two currants concerning the respective place of secular humanism and Chistianity. Neither does the text take position on theoritical issues. Yet, in practice, choices have to be made and antinomies resolved. It is difficult for a Catholic school to elaborate a doctrine which can situate and articulate attachment to the person of Jesus and respect for the diversity of human paths. However, concludes the author, this does not prevent, nor dispense, the school frm commtting itself to fundamental common values. All schools, Christian or not, are confronted with inevitable choices and have to decide on the values they want to give preeminence to. |
