Nomor Halaman : 19-23
Abstraksi Narasi : The crisis of religious life is real and cannot be avoided or escaped. If religious communities are to survive, says Johannes Fullenbach, they must be on fire with Jesus` vision of the kingdom of God which means living in solidarity with the poor and marginalized and proclaiming the kingdom message of righteousness, peace and joy.

Jesus as a secuder

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 25-29
Abstraksi Narasi : Why did Jesus have to be ``handed over`` to give himself as a ``ransom for many?`` According to J. Duncan M. Derrett, Jesus was not tried on the basis of violating pentateuchal criminal law (Dt 13), but because he others to wander off the beaten path and question the traditional basis of Jewish ethics.

Homosexuality: a discussion

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 47-51
Abstraksi Narasi : Homosexuality is not a disease, nor is it possible for a homosexual to ``seduce`` a heterosexual into the homosexual lifestyle. Rather, says Harald Schutzeichel, every human being has an innate sexual inclination that should not be repressed, but discovered and accepted. Human sexuality involves much more than the sexual ``act.`` It is primarily a form of communication based on mutual love and respect. Today`s church is challenged to rethink its traditional sexual moral and speak a pastoral word to homosexual.

Ecclesial reception

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 13-18
Abstraksi Narasi : Both history and Vatican II preserve a practice of and teaching on the sensus fidei which leaves room for involvement beyond the papacy in receiving a council or the results of ecumenical dialogue. Further, in the work of J. Zizioulas, Lanne finds a basis for continual re-reception by the whole church, the need for metanoia, and finally, for reception of the mystery of the church itself as part of the process of reception.

Collegiality and communion in the church

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 9-11
Abstraksi Narasi : Episcopal collegiality is being re-thought among Catholics 1) as an ecclesiology of communion taking shape in the communion of local churches and 2) as participation in the exercise of church authority-not only the authority in the relationship between the church of Rome and other local churches, but also between each bishop and his local church. Lumen gentium 22 and 23 can serve as standards to evaluate how Vatican II`s teaching on episcopal collegiality has fared.

Augustine: exegete or philosopher?

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 35-41
Abstraksi Narasi : Augustine was both an exegete and a philosopher. His exegesis was always philosophical and his philosophy depended on the exegesis of biblical texts. Because human understanding is historically contingent it must-in faith-constantly refer to scripture. For Augustine, scripture gives a new dimension to philosophy as well as to exegesis.

Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 43-46
Abstraksi Narasi : Pope John Paul II`s apostolic letter on ordination and women definitively declares that the church has no authority to ordain women. But according to Ida Raming, the letter fails to consider the socio-cultural context of Jesus` time as well as the use of the historical-critical method of ninlical exegesis.

The vocation of a theologian

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 303-313
Abstraksi Narasi : James Cone reflects on his theological roots, education, and theological awakening as he dicovered his theological voice and gained insight into the theologian`s vocation. The call to be a truth-teller about the human condition of injustice, he says, can be impeded in an environment where tenure and academic acceptance are primary goals. These goals can in fact tacitly approve of injustice and contribute to its prepetuation.

Sexual abuse issues: an annotated bibliography

Nama Pengarang : -
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 331-344
Abstraksi Narasi : What must never get lost in statistics and studies is the fact that both the victims and prepetrators [in sexual abuse] are human beings. Their experiences are devastating, their lives hellish. Great sensitivity, much time and hard work by professionals (sometimes working near the outer limits of their competencies) are required to bring some sense of healing to victim and perpetrator alike. No one can consider himself or herself exempt from learning about such a far-reaching problem.-Michael Harter, S.J. (From introduction to Part 1 of this bibliography in TD 41:3 (Fall, 1994).

At the limits of liberalism: Thomas Aquinas and the prospects for a Catholic feminism

Nama Pengarang : Jean Porter, Ann Wolf, James Cone
Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 315-330
Abstraksi Narasi : While Thomas Aquinas cannot be turned into a feminist, his social thought can provide insights that are important for contemporary feminism, especially in what he says about human flourishing and a just society. While Aquinas thought is time-bound, he contains the seeds of his own revision, and challenges us to reappropriate and transform our tradition from what is oppressive within it.
