Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 3-7
Abstraksi Narasi : In 1975 Damaskinos Papandreou, Director of the Orthodox Center of Chambesy, said that Eastern tradition acknowledged a particular authority in the church for the Bishop of Rome, but there had to be a distinction between this recognition and different ways the authority in the church differed from his patriarchal authority in the West. Recognition of the bishop of Rome`s authority could not mean submission of the Orthodox church to his patriarchal authorioty. Congar considers patriarchal power as distinct from papal power, its absorption into papal power, papal titles, and applications for today.

Nama Majalah/Jurnal : Theology Digest
Volume / Nomor Edisi : -
Nomor Halaman : 23-29
Abstraksi Narasi : To become a true ecumenical symbol the Nicene Creed must become part of the memory of all Christians. Although Nicaea (325) is potentially part of the common people`s memory, many elements in the process of the Creed`s formulation hinder the common people`s appropriation of it. Whether or not the Creed becomes meaningful to them after the elimination of those elements will indicate its legitimacy as an ecumenical symbol.

Abstraksi Narasi : Since Vatican II, Catholic theology has tried to go beyond an absolutist notion of Christianity. Dialogue has been an important component in this attempt. From his experience in encountering non-Christians, Geffre spells out what he thinks would be requirements of an authentic dialogue that would still maintain the uniqueness of Christianity.
