| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Current intellectual trends advocate devolution of authority from national governments to local governments and civil society, especially for the provision of public goods. This paper, based on a large national survey conducted in Idia, shows that most Indians still look to the state, and state governments in particular, to address the problems that they face. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This study examines, from an inter-systemic perspective, North Korea`s recent economic and foreign policy changes. It shows that despite North Korea`s comparative failure, its leadership has neither been fully disillusioned about the feasibility of the system-maintaining alternative nor found a way to reform its system without breaking it down. |

This examines the domestic political consequences of the crisis, focusing on continuity and change in fundamental coalitional forms. Despite initial concerns with a potential backlash, internationalizing coalitions stayed the course while adapting to new political-institutional requirements imposed by the growing salience of social dimensions of internationalization. Yet, the longer-term distributional and political effects of the crisis may not be evident for some time. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | After the introduction of local autonomy, Korean feminists advocated women`s participation in local politics based on life politics and spillover effect. While life politics relies on unverified gender differences, spillover effect is invalid due to the centralized political system. Therefore, local strategy needs to be supplemented with a national strategy. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | Recent leadership transition in China was a mixture of institutional formalization and political personalization. Intra-party democracy has been conducted within the framework of one-party rule and guided by the predetermined principle of democratic centralism. Past choices of rules constrain China`s institution building, while providing new opportunities for the reform elite. |
