| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The major objective of educational activity is to prepare and our generation to be adult persons. There are too many problems faced by educators, most of them are born from the absence of educator`s charisma. It is not easy to identify our educational problems properly, but we offer a phenomenological approach to be applied to find out the implicit phenomenon within or behind the explicit ones. In this approach, educational problems can be understood objectively by grammatical and historical interpretations, and subjectively by individual and generic interpretations. It is also offered a number of activities based on this phenomenological approach to find out the basic structure of educational problems. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This research was designed to identify cooperations implemented by Secondary School of Technology (STM) and industrial enterprises and to explore problems faced in the cooperation. In this cross sectional survey, the sample consisted of 10 out of 21 Secondary Schools of Technology (STM) implementing the dual system of education in East Java. Data were collected by a questionnaire and interviews and then analyzed statistically in percentage measures. It was concluded that the planning of cooperations in the dual system of education included administrative, academic, and curricular aspects. In general, implementation of the planning was good enough, but there were so many problems faced by those participated in the dual system of education. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This ex post facto study was aimed at knowing the intensity of Subject Matter Teachers Convention (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran, MGMP) activities, frequency of training, degree of basic competence in instruction, and teaching performance of Senior High School (SMU) teachers. The study was carried out at State Senior High School (SMUNs) in Malang municipality. The sample consisted of 104 out of 514 teachers from 9 SMUNs drawn randomly. Data were gathered by administering a questionnaire and then analyzed statistically by applying the path analysis. The result showed that teaching performance was influenced directly by intensity of MGMP activities and degree of basic competence in instruction, and indirecly by frequency of training. |

The sample consisted of 12 Senior High School (SMUs) in East Kalimantan drawn purposively. Data were collected from students and teachers of Economics and Accounting by using a questionnaire, documentary technique and interviews, and analyzed in percentage measures. It was concluded that the implementation of learning-teaching activities based on The 1994 Curriculum was supposed to be difficult and that there were many problems faced by students and teachers in the implementation. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This study is a comparative study of an evaluation system between concept mapping essay test and multiple choice test on students` achievement in science. The study was carried out at primary schools in Cianjur. A sample of 100 students was taken by stratified random sampling method. This sample was then divided into two groups consisting of 50 students each. A two-way Anova and Tukey methods were used to test hypotheses. The results of the study revealed that concept mapping essay test resulted in a higher students science achievement that multiple choice test. For students with high verbal reasoning, implementation of concept mapping essay test resulted in a higher students achievement in science compared to those applying the multiple choice test. For students with low verbal reasoning, the implementation of concept mapping essay test did not exert a significant difference in their achievement compared to the group of multiple choice test. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The purpose of this study is to explore new concepts on foundations of education and possibilities to build an Indonesian Paedagogy. The main finding is that education must be based on our national culture. The government` initiative is needed to build an Indonesian Paedagogy. In this globalization era there will be transitions in educational paradigms from school education toward school and out-of-school education. The out-of-school education must be managed intensively as well as the school education. Education in this globalization era emphasizes the importance of science and technology. There must be a synchonization of Religion Education, Pancasila Education and Citizenship, and an emphasis on its implementation in daily life. To educate is to create a situation so that students learn by their own motivation. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of physical education teachers of Senior High School (SMU) in terms of their status, experience, and teaching load. The sample were 38 physical education teachers of Senior High School in Malang. Data were collected by observation and questionnaire, and analyzed in descriptive level by percentages and Chi-square. The results revealed that 66,33% of the teachers had achieved a good performance in teaching-learning process. There were no differences in teaching performance between part-time teachers and full-time teachers, between experienced teachers and inexperienced teachers, and between teachers with low load (< 18 hours/week) and teachers with high load (>=18 hours/week). |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | This study was designed to describe the graduates of the secondary school of tourism industry (SMIP) and their chance to get a job. The object of this research was SMIP in Surabaya, and the objects were administrators and graduates of SMIP, managers of tourism industry, and other related institutions. Data were collected by interviews, questionnaire, and documentaries, and analyzed in percentages. The findings of this research showed that: there were two departments in SMIP, the department of tourism business and the department of hotel affairs; the relationship between SMIP and the government and private institutions was good enough; most of SMIP graduates have got jobs. |

| Abstraksi Narasi | : | The main purpose of this study was to explore values applied by students in choosing a career and ways in which the counselors help students use the choices. This study applied qualitative method. Data were collected by participatory observations and indepth interviews with students, their parents, and the counselors of senior high schools (SMU) in Malang, Sidoarjo, and Probolinggo. It was concluded that the students successful in their career applied their personal, social, vocational, educational, leasure-time, religious, and democratic values in choosing a career. The approach applied by the counselors in helping their students was the Process Skill Approach, and the methods used were lecture, dialog or discussion, clarification, assignments, study tour, role playing, and career day. |
