Abstrak : UD Rama Putra Aluminium (RPA) is an industry that produces variety of products that created by aluminium and glasses. In drilling department, workers usually complain that this body is sick and fatigue because of the unergonomic working condition. By surveying and interviewing the owner and worker, than creating a helping tool for drilling machine. The tool can reduce fatigue and sickness of the worker because the tool design is considering ergonomics aspects and anthropometry aspects ofthe worker. By implementing the helping tool, output is increasing 48.75% by two halls spigot and 22.80% by four halls spigot.

Abstrak : Clarifier is a equipment having a duty to separate fine particles suspended on a fluid by gravity settling and leave clear liquid behind as overflow stream. Alum and poly aluminium chloride(PAC) added as coagulant and floculant in order to accelerate the sedimentation process. This research was aimed to find out the optimum quantity of alum and PAC that must be added to bleaching earth waste as feed with concentration of 5 g/liter. The optimum quantity of alum and PAC was obtained by perform jar test procedure. Batch settling experiment was then carried out using this optimum quantity. The data obtained from the batch experiment was then used for design of continuous clarifier. Result from this study showed that the optimum quantity of alum and PAC used for bleaching earth waste treatment at 5 g/l were 0.25 g/l and 0.16 g/l respectively. Design of continuous clarifier was performed based on the methode of Simplified and Talmage & Fitch Construction.

Abstrak : Water conservation and wastewater treatments are important to industries. Here lies the challenge and opportunity of process optimization via process integration to existing industries. We can optimize the existing system, at start-of-pipe system, to make sure the consumption of fresh water has been set to the most efficient condition so that eventually the wastewater generation will be at the minimum, all of these efforts done at the minimum cost, too. This optimization is done by process integration based on algebraic approach (simplified process, assumed as linear in all equations used, e.g. in the mass transfer). The numeric solution is generated by MEN/Lingo software. The techniques considered in the options for Process Integration are: interception and recycle of streams. From simulation we can choose which stream to be intercepted, which stream to be recycled to where, to what extent should we intercepted, how much should be recycled, and which external Mass Separating Agents should be used. The objective function is to minimize the operating cost in order to achieve the desired target of reduction. The result showed that wastewater generation (accordingly, the consumption of freshwater) could be reduced to 0.7 kg/s from the initial generation of 6.3 kg/s.

Abstrak : Thermostable proteases are enzymes that come from thermostable microorganism which live above 50 °C. Thermostable proteases are resistant to irreversible denaturation and are optimally active at high temperature (from >60 °C to 120 °C). On the other hand, industrial enzimatic ussualy use mesophilic proteases (optimum activity < 55 °C) in their process. Due to their stability at high temperature, thermostable protease can replace these mesophilic proteases as catalyst in the industrial enzimatic.

Abstrak : Determination of mechanism and kinetic reaction can be obtained from the research and approached by the kinetic model. The purpose from this research is to get kinetic reaction model that equal to polymerization styrene reaction by redox. The effect from the changing of initial monomer concentration and polymerization temperature to rate of polymerization and monomer convertion are also learned. Styrene has been polymerized with toluene as solvent and used benzoil peroxide - N.N diethylaniline as initiator. Polymerization has been done by batch process for about ± 2.5 hours. The conclusion from the research that polymerization styrene reaction with redox initiator follows first order in concentration 0.7895N - 0.8676N, temperature 80°C and 0.9628N at temperature 60 - 70°C. In initial monomer concentration 0.9628N and temperature 80°C follows second order. The value of the rate reaction contants are kd = 0.013 liter/ mol.second, kp = 598.88 liter/mol.second and kt = 5.10' liter/mol.second. At first order reaction the changing of initial monomer concentration increase the rate of propagation, but the convertion is constant. At second order, the changing of initial monomer concentration increase the rate reaction and convertion. The changing of concentration and temperature polymerization at 60 - 70°C doesn't affect the rate of polymerization reaction.

Abstrak : RSA algorithm (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) is a popular cryptosystem algorithm with the public key. This algorithm work on raising the product of two carefully selected large primes number modulo n. One of the usage of RSA algorithm is for data security. This paper will show two design data security with RSA algorithm using public key. First design use n for all user and second design use different n for each user. Futhermore, the strongness and the weakness from both designs will be analysed.
