Abstrak: Seperti Yesus yang mengambil rupa "hamba" dalam pelayanan-Nya di tengah umat manusia dan rela "menjadi miskin", demikian juga Gereja diharapkan mampu dan berani menjadi pelayan, menjadi miskin dalam menunaikan misi penyelamatan.

Abstrak: In this article we illustrate how trainers and trainees negotiate epistemic and deontic authority within systemic family therapy training. Adult education principles and postmodern imperatives have challenged trainers’ and trainees’ asymmetries regarding knowledge (epistemics) and power (deontics), normatively implicated by the institutional training setting. Up-to-date, we lack insight into how trainers and trainees negotiate epistemic and deontic rights in naturally occurring dialog within training. Drawing from discursive psychology and conversation analysis, we present an analysis of eight transcribed, videotaped training seminars from a systemic family therapy training program, featuring three trainers and eleven trainees. Our analysis highlights the dilemmatic ways in which participants resist and affirm the normatively implicated trainers’ deontic and epistemic authority. Trainers are shown as mitigating directives and trainees as resisting them, with both displaying (not)knowing, while attending to concerns about (a)symmetry. We discuss our findings’ implications for systemic family therapy training.

Abstrak: This theory to practice article introduces writing as a method of enquiry which assists adult English language learners in the goal-directed activity of completing their Cultural and Linguistic Autobiography (CLA) project, one component of their academic writing course in a community college ESL programme. By focusing on a series of 'chapten prompts' completed by the learners coupled with the epilogue chapter of selected students, I highlight the concept of writer identity (i.e. autobiographical self, discoursal self, and self as author) as it relates to the learners' self-assessment of what they had gained from completing the CLA.

Abstrak: Owens-Illinois (OI) restated its financial statements for the year 2015 due to a disagreement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding how the firm accounted for unasserted claims related to asbestos litigation. Almost 60 years ago, OI sold approximately $40 million of a product that contained asbestos and has subsequently accrued almost $5 billion of liability related to those sales. From 2003 through 2015, OI had been estimating unasserted claims over a rolling three-year window, which the firm viewed as preferable because it improved the reliability of the resulting estimate that was important given the volatility of asbestos litigation. The SEC required that OI accrue unasserted claims for as far into the future as foreseeable. While the accounting change increased the estimate of the total liability for asbestos litigation, when it was allocated to individual years, this change materially increased OI’s earnings for the years 2013, 2014, and 2015. Another interesting aspect of the change was that the SEC’s required accounting treatment resulted in OI returning to the manner in which it had originally estimated asbestos liability ( pre-2003).

Abstrak: Shorea terdiri dari 150 spesies clan merupakan genus utama dari famili Dipterocarpaceae, yang dikenal sebagai meranti, merawan, kerning atau tengkawang. Masyarakat menggunakan tumbuhan ini sebagai bahan bangunan, disamping itu tumbuhan ini juga menghasilkan getah damar clan minyak tengkawang. Senyawa oligomer stilbenoid banyak ditemukan dalam tumbuhan ini berupa dimer, trimer dan tetrarner stilbenoid. Beberapa senyawa oligomer stilbenoid yang berhasil diisolasi menunjukkan aktivitas biologi yang penting seperti sitotoksis, antitumor, anti HIV, anti inflamasi, antijamur clan antibakteri. Pacla penelitian ini telah berhasil diisolasi senyawa ( + )-( cx.)­ viniferin clan clavidiol A, suatu trimer stilbenoid dari ekstrak aseton kulit batang Shorea parvifolia Dyer. Struktur kedua senyawa tersebut ditetapkan berdasarkan data spektroskopi serta dibandingkan langsung dengan standar.

Struktur kedua senyawa tersebut ditetapkan berdasarkan data spektroskopi serta dibandingkan langsung dengan standar.
