Comparison Simulation Analysis of the Gradual Summation of a Function with Recognition of Direct Extrapolation via IN Series

Pengarang: Geonawan, Steohanus Ivan
Abstrak: A set of data pattern that have the characteristic of a function can be approached using Newton series simulation. When using the Newton series, the simulation result of the summation of extrapolation data can be gradually done in step by step. However, if using the IN series, the simulation result of the summation of extrapolation data doesn't need to be gradually done in step by step. The methodology in this research compares the data pattern from the simulation results of the high degree function with the results of interpolation and extrapolation from the results of the IN series simulation. Furthermore, will be carried out comparison simulation analysis of the summation of the function values gradually with the extrapolation f unction directly using the IN series. The result of comparison simulation analysis point out that the value of the total summation of data between the gradual and the direct summation is the same, so that the direct sum technique using the IN Series is able to make the total sum process more efficient.

Conceptions of Science Teacher Mentoring and Mentoring Practice in an Alternative Certification Program

Pengarang:
Abstrak: Conceptions of mentoring held by six mentors and six beginning science teachers in a alternative certilification program were explored qualitatively by means of case studies and phenomenography. Interviews with the six mentors and six beginning teacher produced 379 statements that were grouped into six conceptual categories. The categories of apprenticeship, personal support, and colearning revealed the variation in how mentors and beginning teachers conceptualized school-based mentoring. The conceptions fuctioned as referents for their mentoring practice. Mentoring as apprentuceship was the dominant conception among both the beginning teachers and mentors. The findings of this study impl y that conceptionsof mentoring held by mentors and beginning science teachers should be considered when organizing the school- based component of alternative certification programs.

CORREPTIO FRATERNA SEBAGAI SARANA MENGEMBANGKAN KOMUNITAS RELIGIUS

Pengarang: -
Abstrak: Correptio fraterna has been an effort which will never be end in living a religious life. In the diversity of members of the religious community, Correption fraterna need to be a pillar to sustain the goal of a community life in accordance with the Augustine's ideal for religious life that has been written in his Regula. Live harmoniously in one mind and heart intent upon God is the main point of St. Augustine's ideal of religious life. Correptio fraterna occupies an important position in the community life as confirmed by St. Augustine himself and strengthened by several viewpoints such as biblical, theological and spiritual. With a background of reality which could be found in every religious community community life and all its efforts to give value to Correptio fraterna, expectedly Correptio fraterna has to be the strong foundation to foster the life of a religious community despite having many challenges to be faced. On the one hand Correptio fraterna should collide with the challenges of the community life such as the gap between senior-junior, different interpretation and the reluctancce to correct that led to omission. On the other hand, Correptio fraterna must be the foundation to support the community life and finding the true meaning of Correptio fraterna for the sake of a religious' community metanoia towards the ideals of living in harmony, one heart and mind intent upon God.

Determinants of Entrepreneurial Intention: The Case of Norwegian Students

Pengarang: Stein Kristiansen,Nurul Indarti
Abstrak: This paper aims to identify determinants of entrepreneurial intentions among young people. The empirical basis is Norwegian students, while an objective is also to create a basis for comparative studies among different economic and cultural contexts. Independent variables in the study include demographic factors and individual background, personality traits, and contextual elements like access to capital and information. The individual perceptions of self-efficacy and instrumental readiness are the variables that affect entrepreneurial intentions most significantly. Age, gender and educational background have no statistically significant impact. Generally, the level of the entrepreneurial intentions among Norwegian students is relatively low, which may be explained by social status and economic remuneration of entrepreneurs compared with employees in the Norwegian context.

Disentangling the effects of depression symptoms and adult attachment on emotional disclosure

Pengarang: -
Abstrak: Individuals with high levels of depression symptoms and individuals with insecure attachment orientations have been shown to limit their use of emotional disclosure as a means of emotion regulation. However, little is known about how depression symptoms and insecure attachment orientations might jointly predict whether individuals engage in emotional disclosure. The authors addressed this question using both inter- and intraindividual approaches. College students (N = 121) completed measures of depression symptoms, adult attachment orientation, and generalized disclosure tendencies. To obtain an intraindividual measure of emotional disclosure, participants also completed an online daily diary in which they rated the intensity of the day`s most unpleasant event and their disclosure of that event for 7 days. Results indicated that depression symptoms were negatively related to generalized disclosure tendencies and to intraindividual daily intensity-disclosure slopes. Attachment avoidance was negatively related to both generalized disclosure tendencies and to daily disclosure, and attachment anxiety moderated the relation between daily event intensity and disclosure. The authors discuss the implications for theory and counseling psychology practice.

DUA JALAN PERCOBAAN UNTUK MENANGGAPI FUNDAMENTALISME AGAMA

Pengarang: Supelli,Karlina
Abstrak: Over the past decade, fundamentalism, conservatism, radicalism, extremism and terrorism have become the subject of a wide range of academic research. Against this backdrop, this article offers an epistemological analysis of fundamentalism that has rarely been examined. To complement the analysis, this article also looks as the ways in which information and communication technologies influence the patterns of contemporary terrorism. The author then discusses two experimental paths to respond to the challenges and problems raised by the rising tide of intolerance. Firstly, it is necessary to develop an integrated model of education, in which intellectual sharpness and moral sensitivity are complemented by emotional literacy. Secondly, it is possible to deconstruct absolutism in fundamentalist theology before countering with civic concepts. The first path requires a multidisciplinary approach which involves psychology, philosophical anthropology, theology and other sciences so as to unravel the ontology of emotion. The second path entails the openness of theologians towards deconstruction.

Effects of a brief media intervention on expectations, attitudes, and intentions of mental health help seeking

Pengarang: -
Abstrak: This study examined the effects of a mass-media video intervention on expectations, attitudes, and intentions to seek help from professional mental health care services. A public service announcement–style, mass-media video intervention was developed, with prior empirical research on help-seeking behaviors organized according to the theory of reasoned action/planned behavior. In total, 228 participants were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 conditions: (a) the media-exposed intervention group, who watched programming in which the media intervention was inserted, and (b) the control group, who watched the same programming without the media intervention. The media intervention was not influential on expectation and belief-based barrier variables. However, the media intervention was effective at increasing positive attitudes toward help seeking. Findings regarding the intervention`s ability to increase help-seeking intentions for interpersonal problems were complex. Implications of these findings for future research are discussed.
