Abstrak: This paper proposes a new mathematical formulation for flow measurement based on the inverse source problem for wave equations with partial boundary measurement. Inspired by the design of acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs), we formulate an inverse source problem that can recover the flow field from the observation data on boundary receivers. To our knowledge, this is the first mathematical model of flow measurement using partial differential equations. This model is proved well-posed, and the corresponding algorithm is derived to compute the velocity field efficiently. Extensive numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of our model. The comparison results demonstrate that our model is ten times more accurate than ADCP. Our formulation is capable of simulating a variety of practical measurement scenarios.

Abstrak: We present a new computational and statistical approach for fitting isotonic models under convex differentiable loss functions through recursive partitioning. Models along the partitioning path are also isotonic and can be viewed as regularized solutions to the problem. Our approach generalizes and subsumes the well-known work of Barlow and Brunk on fitting isotonic regressions subject to specially structured loss functions, and expands the range of loss functions that can be used (e.g., adding Huber loss for robust regression). This is accomplished through an algorithmic adjustment to a recursive partitioning approach recently developed for solving large-scale Å‚2-loss isotonic regression problems. We prove that the new algorithm solves the generalized problem while maintaining the favorable computational and statistical properties of the l 2 algorithm. The results are demonstrated on both real and synthetic data in two settings: fitting count data using negative Poisson log-likelihood loss, and fitting robust isotonic regressions using Huber loss. Proofs of theorems and a MATLAB-based software package implementing our algorithm are available in the online supplementary materials.

Abstrak: A major topic in the relation between the church and culture is the capacity of the church to incarnate the core of its faith into the life of the local culture. The faith in God is expressed in various human expressions either cultic or cultural. The church doesn't risk its faith in God but expresses this faith in various ways adapted to the local culture where the church lives. Paul and his friends took effort to enter through the door of the Jews and the Greeks to bring the Gospel to them. Although he did not always get great success, his works have been producing great result. In the reflection of the Asian Church regarding its existence in the life of Asia, the way to evangelization is, therefore, the incarnation of the Gospel in the life of the local culture.

Abstrak: This study aims to investigate the effect of Green HRM on performance, and how the correlation is moderated by Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and green lifestyle. The population of this study was employees in state universities in Central Java Province. The methods of data collection were by employing observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, and the number of samples was 232. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis by using warp PLS program was used to test the hypothesis. The study result shows that Green HRM affects employee performance. Perceived organizational support strengthens the correlation of Green HRM and organizational identification. Meanwhile, green lifestyle does not become a moderating variable in the correlation of Green HRM and employee performance. This study provides a description of the importance of Green HRM to be applied in profit or non-profit organizations. This study provides a new point of view that Green HRM has a vital role in the university context.

Abstrak: This paper presents a new control framework for virtual humans (VHs) in a physics-based virtual environment. This framework combines multiobjective control with motion capture techniques. Each motion-tracking task is associated with a task wrench. Bounds are imposed on lower priority task wrenches to ensure the controller performance of higher priority tasks. An optimization problem is solved to compute optimal task wrenches that are based on wrench bounds. Finally, joint torques are computed using the optimal task wrenches. The novelty of our wrench-bound method is that it can handle inequality constraints on a higher priority task and maintain passivity as well. This control framework allows an operator to interact with the VH in real time, without the necessity of compromising the VH`s balance. It also allows the VH to generate appropriate motions to handle interactions with the virtual environment, rather than to simply emulate captured motions. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated by a VH performing reaching and manipulation tasks.

Abstrak: To overcome some limits of classical neuronal models, we propose a Markovian generalization of the classical model based on Jacobi processes by introducing downwards jumps to describe the activity of a single neuron. The statistical analysis of interspike intervals is performed by studying the first passage times of the proposed Markovian Jacobi process with jumps through a constant boundary. In particular, we characterize its Laplace transform, which is expressed in terms of some generalization of hypergeometric functions that we introduce, and deduce a closed-form expression for its expectation. Our approach, which is original in the context of first-passage-time problems, relies on intertwining relations between the semigroups of the classical Jacobi process and its generalization, which have been recently established in [P. Cheridito et al., J. Ec. Polytech. Math., 8 (2021), pp. 331-378]. A numerical investigation of the firing rate of the considered neuron is performed for some choices of the involved parameters and of the jump distributions.
